Short answer. I am eating a modified Lion diet of beef & sheep muscle & liver plus salt & black coffee using intermittent (One Meal A Day) & extended 5 day fasts. I've been fighting to get to lose weight so I can have some life saving/extending surgery. Albeit pre-covid I would fast up to 2 weeks to maximise Autophagy/mTor. Medical Jury is still out on High ketones vs. fasting, does it cause immunosuppression.
For the last 25+ years I have been trying to lose weight without success. About 18 years ago I started eating a mild Ketogenic Modified Atkins diet which may have helped but 15 years ago the Oxford endocrinology team took me off my HRT (I was born Intersex NOT In-To-Sex (that came later) see https://x-mass.dreamwidth.org/1018.html) without checking my oestrogen levels. You need oestrogen to repair the skin/sinews/ligaments/nerves/muscles/synapses. So for 15 years I have had chronic fatigue and an increasing cascade of infections, auto-immune disorders etc such as Diabetes. Also in that time I have went from Atkins to a Paleo diet to a very carb restricted diet to 3 years ago a Zero Carb Diet, then later fasting to some effect but as of March this year I weighed 210Kg.
Then March I got my HRT back and life changed overnight. I instantly had more energy, strength, life. However, also at that time, Dr Ted Naiman pointed out the obvious: that the body needed either carbohydrate or fats to survive. If I didn't consume either it had to take them from my stored fat. So I switched to a Low Fat Zero Carb diet and I am now at 168.5Kg. So I'm hoping by March 2021 to be at normal weight for the first time in my life!
I am also hoping to restart training by building in my garage a gym with a Squatrack as I do time under load training https://youtu.be/RwgywNZzEi4 plus VR riding (with 2nd hand direct drive cycle trainer) and VR boxing (with a water filled punch bag)
